My story
This guide and these tools are primarily aimed at botting a single main account. My main is maxed with no bans on record, not even a temporary one. It used to be a spare account I was botting on to test the limits of AHK and macro recording until it surpassed my original main.
As someone who used to play Runescape back in the day, I wanted to experience the game within a reasonable amount of time. A typical triple A game can be completed in 50 hours; singular skills in OSRS can take hundreds of hours. I started with existing scripts on a now defunct client and got hit with ban after ban. I took it upon myself to learn how to write my own scripts — I’d rather spend 100 hours automating something that would take me 10 hours in-game if it also meant learning something.
I realised most skills in OSRS don’t need a full blown client; a smarter, randomised mouse recorder covers most major grinds. AHK and its color finding proved incredibly useful. Testing on a new account, I built my own macro recorder with randomisation, built-in breaks, failsafes, and color clicking. Using that, I was able to bot longer hours and progress faster than my original main.
Best bot to use in 2025: In June 2022, thousands were banned for using third party clients. Although botting clients can have very complex scripts, they always run the risk of detection. AHK and macro recorders are the most lightweight, flexible and undetected solution and work on the official client even if third party clients are ever completely disabled.
If your bot gameplay matches exactly how you normally play, then there is zero risk of getting banned. I achieved that by writing my own AHK scripts and Macro Recorder and improving them to be easily customisable for anyone to use.
