Frequently asked questions

FAQ about Old School Scripts, AHK, OSRS botting, bans, macro recorders, and Runelite plugins.

AHK and OSRS

Is AHK allowed in OSRS?

Historically, we have not given bans for some usage of programmable mouse keys (such as AutoHotKey). If players kept their usage of such software to an acceptable standard, we would not take action against them. This is no longer the case.

Source — Jagex

By using randomised AHK scripts you can avoid detection. If the scripts produce input identical to human input, the game cannot tell you are using AHK. Most scripts you find online are not randomised and are not safe for long periods. Our scripts use full randomisation of clicks and delays.

What is OSRS AHK?

AHK is short for Autohotkey. Autohotkey is a scripting language that lets you remap keys and mouse clicks and automate clicks and key presses. We use it for skilling scripts, PK scripts, and color-based botting that works with the official client.

Old School Scripts

What do I get?

  • Runelite plugins — Auto AHK plugins (Agility, Zulrah, NMZ, Pest Control, etc.) on a safe Runelite development build. No injection, no reflection.
  • Macro recorder and color botRecord your own color bot with randomised clicks and delays for 60+ methods.
  • AHK skilling bots50+ ready-made AHK scripts for OSRS, Mobile/Vanilla/Runelite compatible.
  • Free AHK tutorial and scriptsLearn to write your own AHK with step-by-step lessons and premade scripts.

Every tier grants full access to all lower tiers. One license works on unlimited machines.

How safe is it?

We use real clients and real mouse movements — no injection or reflection. Our Runelite plugins run on the official Runelite development client; no unofficial third party client bans occurred during the 2022 ban wave and thereafter. Scripts are fully randomised. We offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee.

Which client should I use?

Only use approved clients by Jagex. Development builds of Runelite are safe to use, as confirmed by the Runelite developer. Do not use unofficial or unapproved third party clients.

Avoiding bans

What’s the number one rule?

If you don’t bot, you won’t get banned.

If your bot gameplay matches exactly how you normally play, risk is minimal. Use legitimate clients, don’t use VPNs or proxies (your home IP is best), and only bot during times you would normally play. For the full list of tips, see the Best OSRS Botting Guide.

Should I use a VPN or proxy?

No. Anyone selling VPNs or proxies to “reduce bans” is trying to make a quick buck. Your best IP is your home IP. IP ranges from well-known providers are public and can be flagged; smaller providers often don’t give you a unique IP and can increase ban risk.

Why use a macro recorder instead of a bot client?

Humans aren’t completely random — everyone has a pattern. A macro recorder captures your unique randomness so your account looks like a real player. Ordinary recorders only play back a single recording; ours stores unlimited recordings and randomises speed and click locations for each playback. See Nom’s Macro Recorder.

Should I write my own AHK?

Yes. With enough scripting knowledge you can write AHK that matches your own gameplay, which helps avoid bans and teaches you a real skill. Start with our free AHK tutorial and scripts.

P2P vs F2P?

F2P bots are treated differently from P2P. F2P bots have trade restrictions and provide no benefit to Jagex, so botting on F2P has a higher ban risk. Having any account on your IP banned can flag your IP. We recommend starting from P2P.
